About Us

We are excited that you are interested in Boynton United Methodist Church. We’ve been praying and planning for you. Catoosa County is one of the fastest growing counties in our region and we are ready to welcome new people into this church family. We are very intentional about sharing the love of God with those in our community and making a positive difference in the world. We hope that you will join us in those efforts. Enthusiasm abounds as we welcome our new pastor. While our history is grand, we truly believe the best is yet to come!

Here is some information that will hopefully help in preparation for your visit:

We offer both contemporary (9 a.m.) and traditional (11 a.m.) worship styles. The contemporary style offers a relaxed, casual atmosphere with coffee and breakfast snacks available. Seating is available in chairs or at round tables. Contemporary worship music is led by a small band at the 9 a.m. service. Traditional worship at 11 a.m. is more formal with seating in pews and hymn-singing led by a choir.

The dress style is looser and more relaxed in our contemporary worship service, but even our traditional worship isn’t too fancy. Some come in business casual and others wear suits/ties or dresses. Everyone is welcome. God cares more about your heart than your clothes.

PARKING
You will find a specially marked “Guest Parking Only” lot in front of the church off Boynton Drive. This will put you just a few steps away from both Heritage Hall (site of 9 a.m. contemporary worship) and the Sanctuary (site of 11 a.m. traditional worship).

ENTRY
The 9Alive 9 a.m. Casual Contemporary Service is held in Heritage Hall, located in the middle of the campus. The 11 a.m. Updated Traditional Worship Service is held in the Sanctuary, located at the corner of Boynton Drive and Pine Grove. Friendly greeters will be in place to direct you and answer any questions you may have.

A nursery is available for infants and children up to age 3. For your child’s safety, all nursery staff have passed a national criminal background screening. A greeter or usher can escort you to the nursery once you enter the church. Children older than three are encouraged to be in worship with their parents. At the 9 a.m. contemporary service, Kid’s Church is provided during the sermon for children through second grade. Separately, B-Kidz Sunday School is offered for all ages from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.

Restrooms are located in the hallway that runs behind the altar/stage/front area of both Heritage Hall and the Sanctuary.

The church is financed by the faithful and generous donations of its members and supporters. As a guest, we do not expect you to give. The service is our gift to you. However, if God leads you to support the mission and ministries of this church, you may place any donations in the offering plate when it is passed around during the service.

We understand that many guests like to remain anonymous as they sample the worship experience here at Boynton UMC. We respect that and want you to be able to do so. If you do choose to give us some contact information via the Communication Card, we will simply give you a call and thank you for attending and offer to answer any questions you might have. We will not hound or pressure you in any way.
