Tweens

Boynton UMC’s “Tweensciples” Program

 

“Tweensciples” are Tweens who are learning to be Disciples for Christ! The needs of our older children were quite different than those of our younger kids or our older teenagers. This age group has a thirst for knowledge and a longing to grow in their walk with Christ, but since they are not “young children” and are also not yet “teenagers” we really had to find a unique way to fulfill the spiritual/educational needs of this preteen age group (typically 10-12 year olds.) This has led to the forming of a new group just for the “Tweens” (5th and 6th graders) with a focus on the following:

 

  • Christ-centered discussion
  • Bible devotion time
  • Community outreach and mission projects
  • A deeper understanding of Prayer Life

The Wednesday night group meets during the Catoosa County School Year, and takes Summers off – with the exception of specially-planned events.
